Job ticket 753812 · smb · glassworks · no subscription

Squarespace prints no free plan. The words on the window were always yours.

Squarespace's pricing page prints no always-free tier — a 14-day trial, then US$25 a month Basic — and itemizes 'Built-in AI Tools' in every single plan card. This job ticket hands that copy layer to prompts you own: paste your business facts and the glassworks etches hero, about, offer and contact in one voice; paste your live page and the inspector pins a fault slip to every dead phrase.

Squarespace is a trademark of its owner. This is an independent, unaffiliated comparison built on Squarespace's own published pricing material, linked below and re-read every thirty days.

Paste the facts, press glaze the pane, and the frame fills in scroll order — each pane carrying its heading and body inside a strict word budget. — rendered in this browser

Sample data is illustrative, not a claim about Squarespace. Every Squarespace figure on this page comes from the linked pricing page, read 2026-09-27.

The prompt pack

Two prompts, each mapped one-to-one onto a Squarespace feature you are currently rationed on. Run them from this page with a free key, or copy them into any free chat model — the text is identical either way, and it is printed in full at the bottom of this section so it survives this site.

Loading the pack from tools.json… If this fails, the full prompt text is still readable below.

One-time unlocks only, never a subscription. If a price ever appears here it was read from Stripe in that request, not typed by hand. An unlock is client-side gating, not secure payment verification: it is stored in this browser and cannot prove payment to anyone else.

What this replaces, and what it does not

A displacement claim you cannot substantiate is a lie with good typography. This is the whole scope, including the parts where Squarespace wins.

Four homepage sections in one voice

Hero <= 25 words, about, offer, contact — all traced to your facts

Dead-phrase audit of live copy

Quoted spans, named faults, re-etched lines you can paste back anywhere

Copy you keep

Markdown downloads of every pane, hostable on any platform

No hosting or publishing

The page etches words; it does not serve a website

No templates or design

Paned copy drops into whatever builder or hand-rolled page you run

No commerce features

The prompts, in full, as text

Copy these into any model. They are the product; the page around them is convenience. Each block is the exact system prompt the interactive runner sends, plus the user-message template.

Prompt 01 — 1. Homepage pane set · squarespace-pane-set v1.0.0 · best ally: OpenRouter — :free model variants · openai/gpt-oss-120b

Replaces: The Built-in AI Tools copy drafting Squarespace bundles into every plan: the four homepage sections — hero, about, offer, contact — drafted in one voice from your facts.

Why this model: Writing four sections that share one voice is coordinated composition; a free long-context model holds the business facts and the per-section limits in one request, so the hero's promise survives to the contact pane. Fallback ally: Google Gemini API — Free usage tier.

System prompt (1421 chars):

You run the glassworks: given the reader's business facts, you etch the four panes of a small-business homepage — HERO, ABOUT, OFFER, CONTACT — each with its heading line and its body copy, in one consistent voice. Plain words, concrete nouns, no adjective fog. The panes must be honest: every claim traces to a pasted fact.

Return ONLY one JSON object. No markdown fences, no commentary, no preamble.

{
  "kicker": string (max 8 words),
  "title": string (max 8 words),
  "subhead": string (max 20 words),
  "items": [
    { "title": string (the section name; body: the heading line in quotes, then the body copy (HERO <= 25 words, ABOUT <= 60, OFFER <= 50, CONTACT <= 20)), "tag": string (one of HERO | ABOUT | OFFER | CONTACT), "body": string }
  ],
  "notes": [ string (one short footnote per run-wide decision) ]
}

Hard rules:
1. HERO states what the business does for whom, in the customer's language — the pasted audience words if given.
2. OFFER names the product or service and one concrete detail (price, duration or delivery) taken verbatim from the facts.
3. CONTACT ends with the single next action the reader pasted or implied.
4. No testimonials, statistics or awards that were not pasted; no invented place names or credentials.
5. Banned house words: passionate, world-class, solutions, leverage, synergy, seamless — any of these appearing voids the pane.
6. Write in the language of the pasted facts.

User message template:

Etch my homepage panes. Business facts (what I do, for whom, one concrete detail, the next action a visitor should take): {{facts}} Voice words (two or three adjectives): {{voice}}

Variables:

  • {{facts}} — Your business facts (max 900 chars) sample data shipped with the tool
  • {{voice}} — Voice words (max 80 chars) sample data shipped with the tool

Output schema (the answer must match this exactly):

{ "type": "object", "required": [ "slides", "total_slides" ], "properties": { "kicker": { "type": "string" }, "title": { "type": "string" }, "audience": { "type": "string" }, "slides": { "type": "array", "minItems": 4, "maxItems": 24 }, "total_slides": { "type": "number" }, "runtime_minutes": { "type": "number" }, "footnotes": { "type": "array" } } }

Decoding: temperature 0.6 · max 1600 output tokens · responseMimeType application/json · budget ~500 in / ~900 out · cost per run: 1 request against the free OpenRouter daily pool; the relay floor needs no key at all.

Prompt 02 — 2. Dead-phrase etch check · squarespace-etch-check v1.0.0 · best ally: Google Gemini API — Free usage tier · gemini-2.5-flash-lite

Replaces: The polish pass the AI line implies: auditing your pasted live homepage for the dead phrases and vague claims site-builders leave behind, with a re-etch for each.

Why this model: Finding dead phrases is exacting detection with a quoted citation per finding; a free Flash-lite at low temperature marks only real spans and proposes tighter etchings without rewriting the voice. Fallback ally: OpenRouter — :free model variants.

System prompt (1468 chars):

You are the glassworks' inspector: the reader pastes the copy of one web page, and you file a fault slip per dead phrase, vague claim or orphaned section — each slip quotes the offending span, names the fault, and proposes a re-etched version using only facts the paste contains.

Return ONLY one JSON object. No markdown fences, no commentary, no preamble.

{
  "kicker": string (max 8 words),
  "title": string (max 8 words),
  "subhead": string (max 20 words),
  "items": [
    { "title": string (title quotes the span in <= 8 words; body: the fault name, then the re-etched line quoted in full, then <= 6 words why it is stronger), "tag": string (one of DEAD-PHRASE | VAGUE | ORPHAN | CLEAN), "body": string }
  ],
  "notes": [ string (one short footnote per run-wide decision) ]
}

Hard rules:
1. Emit between 1 and 30 items; a page with nothing to fix returns one CLEAN item praising one specific strength.
2. DEAD-PHRASE covers filler idioms (in today's world, we pride ourselves, look no further); the re-etch must carry a concrete noun.
3. VAGUE covers unspecific claims (great quality, amazing service); the re-etch names a measurable or a visible detail from the paste, or marks the claim for deletion if none exists.
4. ORPHAN covers sections that say nothing a visitor can use; the slip explains what the section should carry.
5. Never rewrite more than the span in the title; splices, not rewrites.
6. Write commentary in the language of the pasted page.

User message template:

Inspect this page copy. Pasted copy (all visible text): {{pagecopy}} What the business sells and to whom (one line): {{oneline}}

Variables:

  • {{pagecopy}} — Your current page copy (paste) (max 4000 chars) sample data shipped with the tool
  • {{oneline}} — One line on the business (max 160 chars) sample data shipped with the tool

Output schema (the answer must match this exactly):

{ "type": "object", "required": [ "slides", "total_slides" ], "properties": { "kicker": { "type": "string" }, "title": { "type": "string" }, "audience": { "type": "string" }, "slides": { "type": "array", "minItems": 4, "maxItems": 24 }, "total_slides": { "type": "number" }, "runtime_minutes": { "type": "number" }, "footnotes": { "type": "array" } } }

Decoding: temperature 0.2 · max 1800 output tokens · responseMimeType application/json · budget ~1,000 in / ~800 out · cost per run: 1 request against Gemini's free daily messages; the relay floor needs no key at all.

Questions worth asking before you cancel

What exactly from Squarespace does this replace?

The line item 'Built-in AI Tools' as far as words go: drafting and polishing site copy. Squarespace's real product — hosting, templates, domains, commerce — is not displaced and the comparison table says so. If you need a hosted site, you still need a host.

Where do the US$25 and US$19 figures come from?

From squarespace.com/pricing, read 2026-09-27, where both the monthly and annual toggle prices printed. The same capture printed Core at US$39/29 and Plus at US$65/49; all figures sit in the linked artifact.

Isn't generated copy bland?

Bland comes from vague inputs. The pane set is contract-bound to your facts — concrete nouns only, banned fog words, claims traced to the paste — and the etch check exists precisely to hunt the filler idioms that make generic site copy generic.

Does my business info get stored?

No. Facts travel in one request to the free ally you pick, the panes render, and the page keeps nothing. Downloads are yours; the tab forgets everything else.

Nothing is loaded from X or LinkedIn until you click, and no share is counted, logged or reported back to us — the buttons are plain links to each network's own share page.
